WristwatchKeep

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026

1. Who we are

WristwatchKeep is made and run by Peter Chan, an independent developer based in California, USA. This policy explains what information the WristwatchKeep mobile app and this website collect, why, where it is kept, and how you can delete it. When we say "we" or "us", we mean Peter Chan.

The short version: WristwatchKeep stores the watch collection you build in it, so that it is backed up and available when you sign in. We don't run ads, we don't use analytics or tracking tools, and we don't sell your information.

2. Information we collect

You need an account to keep a collection in WristwatchKeep. Everything below is tied to that account.

  • Account information — your email address, and a name if you add one. You can sign up with an email and password, with Google, or (on iPhone) with Apple. If you use Google, we receive your name, email address and a link to your Google profile picture. If you use Apple, we receive the email address Apple shares with us, which may be a private relay address if you choose "Hide My Email". Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider, Supabase, and are never stored in readable form.
  • Your collection — the details you enter about your watches: brand, model, reference and serial numbers, purchase date, price, seller, condition, size, case material, notes and your own estimated value; your service history (dates, shops, work done, costs); the groups you sort watches into; and your wish list entries with their notes.
  • Photos you add — pictures you take with the camera or choose from your photo library for a watch or a wish list entry. The app only reads the photos you pick; it doesn't scan or upload the rest of your library. A photo is uploaded as a copy of the picture file, so it may still carry details your phone saved in it (such as the camera model, or the location if your camera records it). We don't read or use those details.
  • Push notification token — when you sign in, the app asks whether it may send you notifications. If you allow it, we store a token that lets us send notifications to that phone. It is removed when you sign out.

We do not collect your location, contacts, microphone recordings, browsing history or advertising identifiers, and the app contains no analytics or crash-reporting tools.

3. How we use your information

We use your information only to run the app for you:

  • To sign you in and keep your account secure
  • To store your collection, photos and wish list, and show them back to you on any phone you sign in on
  • To send account emails you ask for, such as a password reset link
  • To send you push notifications, if you allowed them
  • To answer you when you email us for help

We do not sell your personal information, share it with advertisers, or use it to build a profile of you. Your collection is private to your account: other users can't see it.

4. Third-party services

WristwatchKeep relies on a few services to work. Each one handles data only to provide its part of the app, under its own privacy policy:

  • Supabase — hosts our database, photo storage and sign-in, in the United States. Your account, your collection and your photos are stored here. Supabase also sends account emails such as password resets.
  • Google Cloud — runs our small server in the United States, which handles account deletion.
  • Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple — only if you choose to sign in with them.
  • Expo — delivers push notifications to your phone (through Apple's and Google's notification services), if you allowed notifications.

The research links on a watch's page (brand and model history, serial-number lookup, Chrono24 and eBay) open those websites in your browser with the watch's brand, model, reference or serial number in the search. That only happens when you tap a link, and from then on that website's own privacy policy applies.

When you export your collection as a CSV file, the file is created on your phone and goes wherever you choose to send it from the share sheet.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as you have an account. You can delete individual watches, photos, service entries and wish list entries at any time in the app, and they are removed from our servers straight away.

You can delete your whole account in the app at any time: Profile → Password & account → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, your collection, your service history, your wish list, your photos and your notification tokens. If you can't get into the app, email us and we'll do it for you within 30 days — see our data deletion page.

Deleted data may remain in our hosting provider's routine backups for a short time before those backups are overwritten.

6. Security

Your data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections (TLS) and is encrypted at rest by Supabase. Your photos are kept in private storage: the app shows them through links that expire after an hour, and they can't be found or opened by anyone else. Access rules in the database make sure each account can only read and change its own records. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care to protect your information.

7. Children's privacy

WristwatchKeep is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you, correct, export or delete the information we hold about you. Much of this you can do yourself in the app: edit any record, export your collection as a CSV file from Profile → Your data, or delete your account. For anything else, email us at [email protected] and we'll reply within 30 days.

If you are in California, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete and correct your personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, we use your information because it is needed to provide the app you signed up for, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change what the app collects or how we use it, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Please check back from time to time.

10. Contact

If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email us at [email protected].
